Academic background

Halliwell's academic background centers on the humanities and liberal arts. He graduated with honors in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, achieving high marks in both IB Higher Level History (HL) and IB Higher Level English (HL). Halliwell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and was a multiple-time Dean's candidate .

Halliwell is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in History at UBC and plans to complete his Bachelor of Education degree thereafter. His research focuses primarily on modern Canadian and modern European history, with a particular emphasis on issues relevant to provincial secondary school curricula. As a future educator, his teaching methods are tailored to individual student needs, aiming to help students reach their full potential and achieve greater success.

Teaching experience

Halliwell is a dedicated educator who caters to the needs of students with diverse learning styles. During his five-plus years at Hillhouse, he meticulously designed and taught English and Social Studies courses for both large and small classes. Halliwell has extensive experience helping non-native English speakers; his guidance helps students overcome language and educational barriers, facilitating their integration into the provincial school system.
